Job Description

We are hiring immediately for a Sanitation Technician for Third shift. The Sanitation Technician is of great importance to the Grandma Hoerner's organization as they are the primary driving force in cleaning the precious day's soils from all processing machinery, in preparation for the next days' production. While working primarily in the kettle and packaging areas, other cleaning duties in the warehouse areas will be accomplished on a scheduled basis. This is a third shift full-time position.

Essential functions of the role:

• Mechanical disassembly and reassembly of pumps, piping systems, and filling machines
• Working with Foaming cleaners and chemicals
• Other duties and assignments as needed or required
• Ability to work on your feet for long hours
• Ability to accomplish tasks while working by yourself
• Ability to work in temperatures above 100 degrees
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Mechanical skills/aptitude
• Ability to read and write in English language
• Positive attitude and team player. Attention to detail, calm under pressure, and good communication skills

Job Responsibilities

• The three primary functions of Sanitation is to a) tear down processing equipment to its basic components to facilitate thorough cleaning, b) cleaning of all food residues and soils from all food contact surfaces including a final sanitizing step, and c) the rebuilding of all processing machines and components.
• Additionally, Sanitation Technicians are responsible for fulfillment of assigned plant and facility Master Sanitation janitorial schedule routines, and additional functions as assigned.
• Secondary functions include light maintenance work.
• Immediate perimeter of the building is clear of trash and cardboard, and any places for pest harborage are identified and cleaned.

Starting at $17.00/hr
